The Vancouver Island Chapter of the A.T.H.S. has approximately 31 members residing in a variety of cities and small towns of Vancouver Island such as Victoria, Port Alberni, Campbell River and Courtney, just to name a few.
Although we are thinly spread, our members share a common interest in trucks. Some of our members are professional drivers of logging, semi, dump and other trucks on a daily basis while others are retired drivers, tradesmen, businessmen, etc.
We meet for a bi-monthly general membership meeting at various locations throughout our vast geographic area and we are currently in the process of developing regular “Tailgate Parties.” It is at these gatherings where the group discusses goals and group projects as well as our personal truck projects and the successes, challenges and problem solving we encountered during our restorations.
Our main event is our annual summer truck show in Duncan which is located approximately 40 miles north of Victoria. This show displays approximately 100 trucks such as Hayes and Pacific Logging trucks, Mack, Diamond T and International Harvester (I.H.) trucks. This event attracts spectators from The Pacific Northwest (United States) and from various Canadian cities and provinces. The show is supported by corporate sponsors and proves to be a huge success each and every year.
